EDMONTON (CAN, Jul 12): Final meet of this years National Track League in Canada was the Track Town Classic at the Foote Field.
US 400m stars won their events. Olympic winner Sanya Richards-Ross in 50.47 over Jessica Beard 51.03 and interesting 4th heptathlon star Brianne Theisen-Eaton 52.33 PB. Her husband Ashton Eaton won the hurdles in 13.38 (-0.2, missed his PB only by 0.03) ahead of Kevin Craddock 13.53.
World champion LaShawn Merritt clocked his fastest 2015 44.36 to win men 400 m ahead of Grenada´s Bralon Taplin 45.28, Aldrich Bailey 45.38 and Jeremy Wariner 45.42.
Jamaican Nesta Carter won the 100 m in 10.08 (-0.4) over Beejay Lee 10.14 and Canadian Justyn Warner 10.17. Beijing-bound Wallace Spearmon topped the 200 m in 20.21 (+1.0) clearly ahead of Antigua sensation Miguel Francis 20.41 and Jamaican Rasheed Dwyer 20.46.
Both women sprints were dominated by Simone Facey of Jamaica, 100 m in 11.10 (+0.6) ahead of Sherone Simpson 11.17 and home Khamica Bingham 11.18 PB. In the 200m she clocked 22.55 (+1.4) just over Shalonda Solomon 22.56. Interesting to have Sanya Richards-Ross also in the 100 m after the 400m as 5th in 11.28 (her first 100 m since 2012).
Fast time also for the 400 m hurdles winner Tiffany Williams 54.33. Another US win for Maggie Vessey in 2:00.16 meet record ahead of Fiona Benson 2:00.55. Duane Solomon won men 800 m in 1:46.13 with Erik Sowinski second 1:46.34 and Nick Symmonds 5th 1:47.53.
Jackie Coward won the women hurdles in 12.88 (+0.2). In technical events Canadian stars won. Derek Drouin 2.33m in high jump but he beat only on count-back Mike Mason also 2.33m PB. Shawn Barber went over meet record 5.80m in the pole vault, second Jack Whitt 5.65m and third Brad Walker 5.55m.
Bahamian Leevan Sands won the triple 16.68m (+0.7) and US Kibwe Johnson hammer 75.59m
